So after a stressful 4 days, Puffy, my Dragon Puffer died. A friend came over and I guess spooked him and made him puff, and he deflated but really never recovered. Melafix really was the only thing that calmed him down. But regardless, he's passed and is meeting every single thing he's eaten. (IMO waiting for revenge.) I took a few shots last night of him after I pulled him out. I had touched him while he was alive, and he was so firm. When i touched him on the plate, I felt kinda squeamish for the first time. He was like melting jello, very squishy. and his sac (not sure of the real name, but the thing that expanded when he puffed) was really loose. I would like to find a way to preserve him, as he was one of my favorite fish. I have been reading thru the threads here, but really don't have access to formaldehyde.

Any way, here are some post death pics, I will upload some others tonight of him alive and stuff. :)

RIP Puffy, you were such an awesome fish to have, and always the talk of the tank

Thanks guys. Yea he really did have a personality. He was so neat to watch and was one of the few fish I have that loved to watch TV.

Sorry to hear :(... to preserve you can use the salt way or the freezing way...

what kind of puffer is this? Freshwater?

He was a freshwater puffer.Tetraodon Palembangensis

Thanks everyone :) I'm thinking about getting acrylic from the hobby store and making a mold with him in it, almost like his suspended... swimming..

Sorry for your loss. I am going to have my wife read this thread. She wants a puffer and wants to make it "puff up". I keep telling her she can't do that and consequently I haven't bought one. Maybe this will convince her.
