My 1 1/4 year old RTC at 30" died today.. I think I had overfed him last night.. It's really a big loss for me because he ate other monsters in the pond, like the tsn and pacus.. i had him bought 4" and raised him upto 30" and suddenly overfed him then died.. Hope you guys won't repeat my mistake..

when i had my rtc i had to moniter and limit his feedings. a few times he would eat until he threw everything back up and that instantly raises the amonia in the tank to where if you don't take imidiate action and do water changes your going to lose some if not all the fish in your tank. that's how a friend of mine lost his 2.5 foot rtc and a few times i came home to a tank full of fish sucking air at the top of the tank with some not so lucky survivors floating around cause the rtc overate before i went to work and then regurgitated his meal. I plan on getting another one in the future but now I like to give my bigger fish a tank to themselves so i can moniter the feedings and dont have to worry about the fastest eating fish getting all the food
