Ripsaw Catfish at pet store

Just got back from the pet store and saw this guy. He had to be about 3 feet long, they had him listed as a dolphin catfish and I wasn't sure if that was another name for the ripsaw. God I wish I had the tank for him.

What were they asking for him? Someone will put him in a 55g.

He's a beast hopefully they'll have the sense not to sell it somebody with a 55g

He was $500, so I doubt someone with a 55 gallon would spend that for him

Oh I agree, but if it's anything like the places around here they will sell anything to anyone.

There was definitely a mixture of good and bad advice going on. One guy was asking why is fish were dying and they mentioned pH issues and promoted fishless cycling and were explaining the process and importance. But then they also told him green spotted puffers were completely fresh water and they had a teacup stingray that had death curl. Extremely sad to see.

Dolphin catfish is another name they call Oxydoras Niger, Rip Saw catfish.

Nice fish! They're one of my favorite Doradids, might get one in a few months for the pond I'm putting in.
