Can river fish that you catch be kept as a pet? like a sunfish, chub or carp? will they live long enough if ya got the right stuff?

It can be done, given you research what the fish needs (diet, space needed, etc.) and if its legal or not where you live.

like keeping trout is illegal in some places. for some reason. i don't know why you can catch and eat a fish, but not keep iun a tank.

most are very easy to take care of, easier than most tropical fish actually, but they usually need more space and sometimes won't eat commercial foods. also be aware of any laws in your area that may restrict the capture of certian species.
i heard you need to get a bass when it is small because when you put it in the tank straight from the river it goes into shock....like real bad
