No It wasn't coated all over just on is barbs. He said the banger in the beginning I just can't remember what he called them. Very anticlimactic episode though.

But not sure it totally right. He never says really what the name of it was. But I did hear him call it a chucho de rio when we was walking up to the dock in the show.
