I think the wording is vague, the guys in the pond were the ones attacking the fish. BTW I'd be just as apprehensive jumping into that water.

wade is not a wuss. it take some heart to get in a pool with large fish like that. the problem is with the statement that they were being attacked by the fish. the fish were not attacking. they were trying to escape being cornered by wade and several local, south americans. the biggest concern was being hit in the head by a flying aripaima. if one saw the entire episode, they would realize it. i think it's being taken out of context.
