Hi everyone! I have three red belly piranha and I was thinking about putting river rock in my 5gallon fish tank. Does anyone think this would affect my fish in anyway? Also, does anyone know where i could get cheap plastic logs or caves, i tried putting a real piece of log but it got all fuzzy so i threw it out! but they loved it! so i want to put a plastic one!

Happy Holidays!! :headbang2

That sounds kinda small for a p tank. The river rock would look nice but would collect detritus like crazy so it would have to be cleaned often which if left for to long would cause an ammonia spike in such a small tank in a small amount of time.

Didnt notice it was for a 5 gallon tank. That is way too small even for small Piranhas.
They are messy eaters and a 5 G tank wouldnt work.

As for river rocks collecting detritus, just make sure you grave vac it every water change, that should help out a lot.
