Hey guys I have a nice river that comes through near my house and I was woundering if there would be any harm in putting a couple of those in my tank, I was thinking of half the tank with the large river rocks and half bear bottem, what do you think?

well it depends on how big ur tank is if u just scater the rock about (there not sharp right) the tank then ull be fine. BUt doing half in half inless ur have a large aquarium where they have room for free swim then its prbly not a good idea

If your keeping rays i personally wouldn't put any rocks in the tank. Most rocks are sharp. Big rocks will take away swimming space from the rays.

River rock can work depending on the size...

my 180 is stocked with 290 lbs of river rock i got at a rockyard.. just powerwashed them off and they were good to go...

I had about 5 rocks, the size of half of a average persons palm. And They looked fantastic and didnt immobilize the ray's swimming areas, but however, I did find that as I fed the other fish in the tank, my ray would get excited and easily toss them around like gravel. By the end of the feeding (my ray is on a different feeding schedule) , he would seem "angry" that he didnt get any food and throw a little hissy fit, one could say. It's a cute thing to watch, but I've decided the rocks need to go, the ray has bare-bottom tank in the front and I think it's just a little to risky for him to throw one of these rocks and crack the glass. Rays are very strong animals, never underestimate the strength of a ray, :)

yea it looks to be about the same size in the pic, I just got them from a stream near my house and made sure they were nice and smooth like those ones
