Ok, So I have a 125g long (72x18x22) and I am setting it up to have a river flow. Which means for my set up I was planning having a intake on one end of the tank with the return at the far end to create a current. I also have a Fluval FX5 for filtraion and I was going have the intake and return for this setup the same way. My plan is to use PVC pipe attached to sponge filters located on one end of the tank the pluming would route up and out the top of the tank on that side , down and under the aquarium though a Pentair Aquatics (Rainbow Lifegard) Double Heater Module AF-92-19
accross to the far end of the tank up to a return directing the flow back across the tank length wise 72"
QUESTION;
what size pump would I need for this, GPH/HP? any recommendations for a model. Please keep in mind the Fluval FX5 will be separate from this, but the pluming for it will be set up the same way.So as to assist with the current.

The turnover rate in a river tank is usually based on the species you're planning on keeping. If you have slow water fish then 5X-10X turnover might be fine. Brook type loaches and some acestrorhynchus can use up to 20X. Hillstream loaches can go even higher.

So why are you doing a river tank? What fish do you want to keep.

Well right now I have a 1-Hi FIn wolf, 1-RT barracuda, I would like to get a couple more of the RT barracudas and a Hydrolycus Tatauaia. I am still undecided on what else. So going of the information posted I would not be needing more then 10X turn over. I'm going for amazon basin river fish & setup. Any suggestions on other fish?
Also thanks for the reply's
