Hi all,

would love to know if anyone as any experience in breeding river shrimp or keeping them. reason why I ask is that its costing a small fortune in feeding the fish and would like to breed them just to reduce costs a bit.

I know they need very cold salty water but thats it.

anyone got idea's or experiences

I've never even heard of them, but if they are a marine species, I think you would be better off getting some frozen shrimp from the grocery store.

breeding shrimp is a slow and annoying process. takes the shrimp months to reach a size thats actually filling to ur fish. unless you have like over 500 shrimp that were dropping babies then it wont be worth it. even breeding guppies is a slow process and you end up wasting time n money on raising the shrimp, water changes, feeding.

not worth it IMO

cheers ethnics, I think I'll have too get a good deal on buying a lot in one go.

It will be easier to keep them alive than breed them by the sound of it.
