I've been working on a river for a few months now. I got it started about 4 months ago and have since had some hatchet fish and African Leaffish (Polycentropsis abbreviata).
It is a 30 gal with aquaterra 3D background. I placed it around a unidirectional flow system with an AC70 powehead blowing down the tank across rocks and wood. The back of the tank has an HOB filter and some sand to provide shelter to small shrimp (or possibly some day fry). I have no heater and the tnak averages in the 70's
Stock:
4x Hatchet Fish
1x Polycentropsis abbreviata
2x Bamboo (Singapore) Shrimp
4x Sewellia lineolata var. reticulated (reticulated hillstream loach)
4x Sewellia lineolata var. spotted
They are between 1-2 inches right now and the coolest little guys. They all seem to crowd in front of the powerhead before they are blown off. So far they haven't eaten but I am confident they will soon. It's only been one day!
Enjoy pics and sorry for the poor quality on these!
