RO / DI Questions

I have read that DI filtration removes 99% of tap water contanimants..I have read that RO filtration is about the same. Is one type better than the other?

Actually, there are a lot of RO/DI combination units. Those are the best ones to use.

Cant you over filter water? I mean, remove necesary nutrients and minerals that way?

I've actually been told that RO water can somehow cause a sodium imbalance in the fish. Not sure if it's true, just sharing what I heard.
