Hey Everybody,

I havent posted about my tank in a while and have some updates. I purchased an ro/di unit, remora protein skimmer pro, painted the back of my tank, quarantine tank up and running, lights running...and thats about it.

The tank looks epic, would like to get a pic of it and post it.

Also I have a question,

How do I store RO/DI water? I have about 15 gallon of freshly made water in a garbage pale...thats it. I'm gonna use it to fill some evaporated water in both the main tank and quarantine tank.

Also should I be worried of anything....using ro/di water?

No. R/O DI water is perfectly safe to use in your tank. just remember that when using it that the PH in the water is lower than tap. And if you have wood in your tank then it may drop the PH even more. R/O generally runs about 6.2 PH or so. As for storage i have a 55Gal. plastic drum that i fill with filtered water and use a 44 gal trash can to hold my waste water. i use the waste to water plants and that stuff. its fine its just not Reverse Osmosis De-Ionized. Have fun with it. i know mine was a blast setting up everything. i was so excited to get it running! If you want i will post pics of my set up so you have an idea.

Cool that be great, I actually made my water the first time with the garden hose outside by sitting the unit on a chair. I connected the waste water line to my dad's garden lol

Pics will be great, Im thinking about hooking the unit up permentaly to my shower that I have downstairs (3 floor house) that no one uses. I guess I can buff up the ph as soon as my garbage can is filled with ro water...so then it's ready to go.

Also based on your avatar your tank looks nice...i never had luck with angelfish so thats why I have a tank of ciclids and a marine fish tank lol.... best of both worlds

yea i want to do a reef tank. that sounds like fun! anyway. ill post some pics in the morning. till then i sent you a friend request in case i cant find the thread. thank you for the compliment on my tank BTW

My ro system is a differnt model, but they both clense the water. I like your idea of using a drum and a garbage pale....I have the same 20 gallon brute can as u lol where I keep the filtered water. I think Im gonna end up hooking the unit shower so the waste line will just drain, but I like your idea of giving it to the plants.

This is the unit I have:

Thats Unit looks nice! yea i agree with just letting it drain out. I was going to have PVC leading the wast to my gutter outside. but i didnt like the fact of wasting all that water. i use it for plants car washes and to clean the yard. because i would use water for those things anyways. And i think your unit does the same as mine. they make DI water witch is spotless water for car washing!

Lol I gotta keep that in mind for car washing. I was also thinking about hooking up the waste line to a long pipe with numerous holes at an angle...and a line it over my dad's garden of plants or a bunch of flower pots. Theirs a lot of options out thier lol

yea. lots of good ideas and ways to do things. when you find out what your going to end up doing post some pics when you set it up!
