Hi,
I've done RO filtration before. The way I did was to filter the tap water through a foam filter, then carbon, then the RO membrane. The RO membrane had 2 outputs, one for the good water, one for the wastewater. I would just feed the good water into 5 gallon jugs, and I had to watch to turn it off when the jugs were full. The wastewater just went out onto my driveway.
Now I've got an under the sink model free from craigslist and I have a question. Why do they have a "postfilter" after the RO unit? Isn't it clean enough coming out of the RO membrane.
I will follow up with any additional questions. First I need to go out to the barn and take the thing apart...
Thanks!
Stefan
