ok i know what a ro filter does but i still have a ? or 2. 1 is what does GPD stand for as far as size goes and what size do i need for my 180g? 2. does it filter the water that is already in the tank or does it hook up to your supply for filling the tank? 3. are they adjustable or do thay just remove everything. this is my first time having realy hard water (well) so im am new to thees. thanks for any help

1.GPD stands for Gallons per day.
2. It's connected to the water supply not used for filtering your tank.
3.They remove about 99.9% of everything in the water. My water came out of my RO at about 5-10 ppm (parts per million)
If you use a RO you need to add trace elements back to the water.I used to use 50% RO and 50% tap water when doing water changes.

i thought thats what GPD stands for so does that mean a 200GPD ro filter wil take 24 hrs to fill a 200g tank (i dont think so) or does that mean thats all it can filter each day? i see that filter elimants are like 25$ how many gallons will each one filter? sorry for basic ?s its just i have found some units for like 100$ to 500$ and i dont want to get the wrong one. i have 1 180g, 2 20g, 1 55g and im planing on a 250g in the distant future
