OH
I want to get an RO up and running

I could probably just buy a new unit....but I have an old one that I used many years ago. It is a basic 3 stage. I assume it would be cheaper to replace the guts of my old one?

where do you shop/recommend for RO parts?

:)

depends how nice the system was. You can get a starter set-up for $100-150 while replacing the membrane on a nice system can run close to that amount, and that's before replacing the sediment and carbon block.

Then again, if you have a nice system with a pump, it would probably be worth it to spend that much to replace all the insides.

i found it best to put the old unit back in the box and return it to the shelf in the storage shed... and then think about it every few weeks and say something along the lines of "i really should get that thing up and running... wonder where i can find filters for it" and then forget about it for another few weeks...

there we go.. now i have a dot on this thread so ill remember to look here again...
