RO SYSTEMS SAFE>>??????

Im just wondering would it be safe to drink the water ran through in RO system? Im thinking of course but I just want to make sure.

By running it through an RO system does the tap water come out as if you went to the store and filled up a gallon of water???

The water is safe to drink however it will probably taste "off" since the water is stripped of all the dissolved gasses and most of the minerals.

If you add back a bit of tap water to get some minerals it would probably taste better.

So would the water ran through the RO system compared to the water you buy at refill stations almost the same?

It would probably depend on how often the RO system at the store is serviced and whether it adds back minerals to taste but I know some people with nano reef tanks use store bought water without much trouble.

Yea its just I am about to buy an ro system and in our house we also run to the store to get water to drink. If its about the same I might as well use the RO to just get the drinking water and save the trip each week.
