Talking to a friend of mine says that a ro and a rodi water filter are the same thing, the DI stands for we took more of your money. I say that there is a difference. Who is right.
DI or deionization. Deionization removes minerals from water. So you are right in that there is a difference. Some of the removed minerals are beneficial to fresh water fish. So....I would not go the DI route.
I have stopped using my DI portion of my RO unit. I do however mix essential minerals back into the water before I add it to any of my tanks. DI is pretty much useless for just "fish" tanks IMO.
