Not sure if anyone even noticed I was gone a couple weeks. Drove from Seattle to Portland then cut east to Yellowstone Wyoming for 7 days, starting August 9th. August 16th we went north to Swan Lake Montana for a week with my mom's side of the family, then cut west back to Seattle yesterday.
Logged 2393.4 miles (plus 150 on the odometer right now) and went through 36.662 gallons of gas (that's 35.79mpg average if anyone cares). Drove a 1994 Ford Escort, which held up surprisingly well seeing as I replaced the cylinder head with one from a junkyard a week before we left.
My biggest expense was gas, of which I spent $158.39. Then came fishing licenses and lures $107.36 (10 days fishing in Montana...$53.36, 7 in Yellowstone...$20). We lived off of $100 of Costco food for the week in Yellowstone, which was paid for by my roommates mother. Then the week in Montana was paid for by my mom's family, so food expenses were ~$35 for food on the road. Camping spots in Yellowstone $37. So, two weeks adventure for right around $300. Can't beat that. Especially since I quit my job to go on this trip...
First, the start of the trip. Seattle to Portland to Yellowstone.
Dinner in Portland. $8 steak dinner...no minors.
Bridge in Portland.
Yes, Jesus is sitting on the steps. Not a happy Jesus either.
Sunrise in Southern Idaho
Southern Idaho is a terrible place.
