I'm kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place atm. The original plan when I got my fire eels was to grow them out in my 40 breeder, and this winter build/buy them a prementent home in our basement. which was all fine and dandy until my parenst decided it was time to move. which will be happening early this next spring. another road block I've run into is the design of our basement stair case makes it almost impossible to fit anything larger then a 125 down the stair well. I'm looking into a few options. One of them is a kid pool with plumbing on the side, with an inflatable ring on the top and the design holds itself together more or less when filled with water. I can easily rig a netting over the top to prevent jumping, the gaskets seem fairly sturdy as well to add a good sized filter to it. I believe the pool holds 600 gallons of water. anyone seen or used these? the other route I'm looking at is some stock tanks that would fit down the stair well. But would likely require me to split the fish up and get filters for each tank. and take a huge chunk of the money I've put aside for their perment home when we move. Anyone else have any suggetsions? atm everyone is OK.. But they need to be moved into a larger lodgeing by mid winter or sooner. and I'm not sure as to the integrity of a home built that I will need to disassemble then re-assemble to move in a matter of a few months. Any suggetsion other then re-homeing the fish, which I will do if absolutely neccisary but atm I don't know anyone who could even keep them for a few monthes let alone house them permently either.
love when life bites you in he butt. they've been talking baout moveing for years... they had to pick now as a good time.
