im trying to get a recipe for my own DIY rock bass/blue gill food. so far im going to freeze minnows and night crawlers then blend them and mix the with a veg of some sort. then freeze them in cubes to feed daily. i wanna know what could i add to help the color of the fish.

Try some hikari color enhancing pellets or something like that.

If you want to improve color add some shrimp or carrots to the diet.
