Rock salt and stingray

Is it ok to add rock salt to treat a poss velvet outbreak in my tank and what's would be e safe and effective amount to use.

Marine salt like instant ocean would be best...rock salt is good for snow not fish raise temp to 86

I use MORTON water softener salt at 3 lbs. for every 100 gallons. Seems to work.

whatever salt you use, just don't put it directly into the tank without dissolving it first. Salt will burn the ray's disk.

You should use AQUARIUM salt, NOT marine salt, for FW fish. Marine salt has other compounds in it designed for marine fish that can be harmful to FW life.

Mortons solar salt in the large blue bag is fine. 100% salt. Just be sure you dont grab a bag with ice melt additives.

We dont have the same meds or salt in the uk. How could you treat a tank for velvet with rays in? Is copper a complete no go or can you use half dose?

No copper at all for rays.........
