Went to the shooting range yesterday, noticed a place on the way there for the first time... not a quarry, but sorta a nursery for rocks... They had 100 different types of field stone, various sizes of limerock chunks, a few kinds of slate, river rocks/pebbles from pea size up to double fist size, etc.
So I end up sorting thru all sorts of stuff, got 3 nice big pieces of flat field stone and some smaller chunks to act as supports to make "tables" in my tank... 35lbs of extra rock, at * 20 cents per pound!!! * . Several LFSes have the same/similar flat fieldstone rocks, at $7 per pound!!! Most expensive stuff this place had was 50 cents per pound if you buy less than a ton (piece at a time), less if you were buying a whole ton at once!
Pics later ... She Who Must Be Obeyed gets to sleep in on Sundays, and the cable to pull pics from the camera is in there with her...
