They laid eggs....this is the 2nd time...first time they were all ate with in a few moments of being laid. The tank has a few other kinds of fish that will probably eat the eggs or wigglers again so I was wondering if I could move the slate with the eggs and the female to another tank so they can hatch and she can tend to them. Would moving them mess it up....if not would i need to move the male too?

My future plan is to move the other egg eaters out the tank so they can spawn in this tank with ease...but I am not at that point yet.

Thanks.

i think it would be ok. i move some angelfish eggs to another tank and they where fine.

Well I didnt move them since I didnt know and wanted to just see how it goes this time. They have hatched last night and I see the wigglers. The parents are guarding the corner of the tank where they are at. I wonder if I could move them while they are wigglers with the parents into a bare bottom tank and have them keep raising them?

It's safe to move them already. Just keep the water oxygenated with a small airstone. Once they start free swimming in 2-3 days you can feed them live bbs, microworms, etc. I used decapped bs eggs...some didn't learn to eat in time and died, but most survived.

Be warned tho - you'll be overrun with those little buggers soon! :)

Could I move the parents too with the wiglers and have them tend to the small guys? Or once I move them all the parents will ignore the fry? I might not worry about it this go arround...they didnt take long to spawn again...the last batch of eggs a month or so ago were sucked up by the 5 yoyo loaches in the tank...this time she guarded them better. In the tank with them is also 3 cory cats 7 red head geos 4 plat green tiger barbs 3 rasboras and another pair of rok's.
