Hey everyone! Im new to the forum, so this will be my first post. I am a DIY'er and have been thinking of an idea for a tank rack that would have shelves that roll in and out for maintenance/access. My thinking, is that I would be able to maximize space this way and keep lighting closer to the tanks. Has anyone else done something similar or have any ideas on how to build such a thing? Any thoughts or comments are welcome!!! Thanks, Jason.

It seems like I read a post a couple of weeks ago about someone making shelves that rolled out with pics.

I was only thinking of using 9, 15 - 20 Gal tanks and definitely anchoring it to the wall behind. If the previous article about this can be found, would you mind linking it for me? I have looked but cant find it. Thanks, Jason.

Rockler has some accuride drawer slides that supposedly hold up to 500lbs (only about 300 if it's frequent use). Make sure you leave leads for any electrical/tubing and I could see it working.

P.S. They're only like $100/pair... so I hope you realllyyy want them

Might be easier to put the lighting on drawer slides. I had a light canopy on a reef tank that was connected to pulleys on the ceiling. just a simple pull of a string on each side lifted it out of the way for maintenance. It was in a fishroom though, it might not look too good in a livingroom.
