how much space do datsneed? i'd like like three or four. also are they shy? like do they hide alot? they seem like they'd be very much like ctenopomas.

not to sure about how much space you need, but ive seen 3 decent sized STs in a 40-50 gallon tank at a LFS =( they didnt move at all. decent sized meaning... 12"-14".

If youre starting with a 40G i hope that you get baby 1 inch Indo's.

If u get bigger sized Dats like 10"+ i would get over 100G

yeah... its in cali, but i wont name the place. its a nice store and i go there a lot though.
