rope fish sexual maturity?

at what size are they sexaully mature? i know captive breeding has been unsuccessful thus far but i would like to give it a try. i have 4 ropes 11-13'' 2 male and 2 females. i have recently noticed that they seem to be pairing up(1 male/female pair hangin out together on one side of the tank and the other pair on the opposite side) i'm hoping this is a good sign. i am going to be removing their tankmates soon and they will be all by themselves in a 55gal. any tips or advice would be appreciated?

I really like rope fish and am considering buying one. There growth, eat and it's sexuality is 2 or 5 years. Fish reaching sexual maturity question Tank Relationships.

I bred mine once about 8 years ago. Had 3 males and 1 female in a 55. Never witnessed the breeding, but sent eggs to someone in Edmonton on plants I sent them. The eggs hatched in their tank.
