Yes, they are related to snakes, but then again, humans are related to bananas, so relatedness doesn't mean as much. Ropefish are polypteriformes, so they are in the same family as bichirs.

Yeas,they are in the same family.Elongated fish.Hardy,and lovable,i suggest immediate ownership of a rope if given a chance.

I ain't too sure we are all that close to bananas. Most of us seem to resemble pears or apples :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
