Hi all, first I'll start with bascis.
Tank, 75 gallon, filter rated for 150 gallons on tank, water turned over 7x per hour. Ammonia, 0rpm, nitrites, 0ppm, nitrates 5ppm.
Sand bottom, some plants, temp 78F.
I got this rope fish two weeks ago (already had one before him and got another with him). He didnt want to eat but that's fine, he was chunky and they sometimes take a bit. Since a couple of days ago hes been in a weird position on his side with his tail curled almost like a question mark. I got home around 15 mins ago and I went to check on him, he was half floating half on his side, eye glazed over looking like hes not breathing. I got him out with a net, and he started moving, he actually slithered out of the net and back into the tank. He swam around a little and is now floating on the surface seeming dead but isn't. His skin is partially whitish (NOT ich, or fungal infection I believe) right behind his head and one of his hand fins is ripped up and stumpy. He hasnt been getting picked on or freaking out so I dont know what's happening or what to do next.
He still hasn't eaten, (tried pellets, bloodworms, live mealworms, live ghost shrimp, live blackworns) the white patch behind his head is also rougher in comparison to the rest of his skin. I'm going to dose with stress coat.
