The batch of 4 I have had in a 30L for 60 days were moved to the 120g last Friday. They are out and about and seem very active and liking their new home. There was already 1 in the tank that stayed hidden a lot. I am hoping having friends will draw him out more. I have so far only seen the 4 freely swimming about.

The fish I have chosen for this tank are not for the beginner aquarist, that is for sure. It is taking a lot of patience and working out how to get food to everyone without overfeeding the entire tank. The ctenopomas that I had to worry about getting their food when I had yoyo loaches competing with them have turned out to be the issue. I have placed a nice scraggly small piece of spider wood on top of the terra cotta saucer that I put the ropefish food on to keep the ctenopomas from swooping in and gobbling it up. They also dart up and grab african butterfly fish food which has been discussed at length on another thread of mine.

Ooops. Mods, I just realized I may have posted this in the wrong section. Please feel free to move to polypterus. I could not figure out how to edit and move.

I love the look of your tank! Those are some happy ropefish. I appreciate your sharing of the different lengths you've had to go through to figure out how to feed everyone!

Thank you! It has truly been a challenge. Makes me appreciate my tanks where I just throw in the flakes and pellets and maybe have to target some bottom feeders with wafers and I am done, lol. I love oddball fish so I guess I gotta realize that they come with oddball behavior sometimes, lol.
