same foods that a Bichir would eat.
Meaty foods. Live foods.
Shrimp, earthworms (cut up), meal worms. etc.
These fish like to be in a community of their own species and they absolutely love plants p.s. even a small rope will eat things like cardinals especially in a small tank so keep that in mind. That is great. because i am wanting to get about a 5in. for my 29gal Long. it will be a while before i get a larger tank... any advice for plants to put in the tank with it?
Any kind of fat bodied tetra should work as long as they’re fast enough not to get eaten. Ropes won’t hunt them during the day but if then manage to sneak up on the in the night you could have some trouble. So im doing a african theme planted tank for the rope. Its going to have ~1in of eco-complete and ~1in of Tahitian moon sand for substrate. any ideas on plants and tank mates?
