recently got a ropefish (not my first) but she isn't eating well if at all and seems pretty lethargic. also, she seems a little bloated from a bit past her mouth and lies slightly to her side. i dont find she swims as well as the previous ropefish i had as well. Nitrites at 0, nitrates at about 30 but my aquarium is planted so i suspect thats fine. pH at 7.0. i do 20% weekly water changes and gravel vas as well and also replaced my filter media this past weekend. i got her last week before i did and since then, i've only seen her eat once and her stomach bulging from food 1 other time (i suspect she ate some ramshorns). please help, because these fish are very uncommon here and also pretty expensive. besides, i don't want my fish to die regardless...

don't think i'm gonna get another rope for a while...Nothing you could have done, it was probably from ingesting gravel or the snail shell like you said. Its usually a "wait and see" approach. Sorry for you lost.
