I am thinking about moving my 10 inch rose queen into my 90 gallon. Could she get a long with a managuense? Right now she lives with clown loaches and is not aggressive towards them. She does enjoy biting me though. I really have no idea how aggressive of a fish she is and I know the managuense has a pretty mean reputation. So am I asking for trouble?

Thanks

yes, you're asking for trouble. trying to move 2 adult cichlids such as a flowerhorn and jag together into a relatively small tank is asking for a lot of trouble. jags are highly territorial and even in a 125 might not allow much room for other large cichlids.

there are exceptions to every rule but I don't think this will work out for you. imo you're much better off keeping them separate. :)

thank you. Is the 90 a big enough tank just for the jag?

I wouldn't want to keep a jag in a 90 (18"x48") for life. They could use more floor space than that.

It's always a crap shoot mixing cichlids. But mixing 2 large fish like these has trouble written all over it. Jags are extremely territorial and aggressive fighters, that's not a lot of room for those 2 to have their own areas.

your female rose queen would probably be more comfy long term in the 90 but if the jag is a female then it could be ok in there too. a male may grow large enough over time to eventually look a little cramped in there. :)

sounds like a blood bath  to me but i would try it with a divider just to see how they act maybe they would spawn:naughty: how big is the jag?

Isnt the minimum for a male jag a 75, and a female 50? I think those were the numbers, I forgot.
