Hello Everyone,
I have a tank that I have a Rose Queen and a Cuban Cichlid. I knew the Cuban was male, and I thought the Rose Queen was as well due to behavior, so I made sure to have enough hiding spots/caves/territory. When the Cuban cichlid was introduced they did their liplocking and looked like they were establishing a pecking order. Now they won't stay away from each other and the rose queen's egg tube is showing. I was not expecting this at all but was wondering if anyone has had these two cichlids pair or if it would even be viable.

Thank you for any information.

Should be viable. And the pairs will make some interesting fry.

I think I heard some were that some breeders use Cubans in their red Texas lines every now and then to help keep the strength of the pearling. But I don't k ow of this is true.

Something like that. But I think the black would become red.. and silver/blue would be white.
