Was wanting to get a group of these, but I don't know horribly much about them. Has anyone had any experience with them? was wanting to put a group in a planted tank, love their colors. I heard they prefer cooler waters, with lots of oxygen. The high turbulence and high oxygen isn't a problem, but the cooler waters might be. Any tips? Anyone keepin any? Thankz!

kept them in tropical tanks. no problems. just feed alot and give them some water movement for oxygen.

yes, lots of water movement...temp. was kept normal with mine. expensive in my area.

very nice fish once they grow out. thou slow growers. very under rated fish...

you can tell if they are happy if they have full coloration. yellows, reds, and black....

gud luck!

went for like 30 bucks here

best prices I've seen is $19.99 for 2" I've heard they prefer cooler water as well. My lfs had about 30 that they put into their massive planted tank at normal tropical temps like 78-82 and they all ended up dying because it was to warm. At the lfs I worked at we kept them in the molly tanks for the same reason because the temp was about 76 tops instead of 80. Been thinking about picking up 4-6 of these guys and putting them in with the chinese high fin ~Trent

Yeah, i think the higher temps might be able to be worked around if you increased the circulation and aeriation....probably why they lost them, not enough aeriation in the planted tank. Anywho, i was gonna say...TFD has some at 2" for $1.50 or so....;)
