like the title says the darn thing wont color up the red strip is more of a pink and i have been feeding it new life for 3 or more weeks. any advise. i have 20 of them 3 to 4 inches each (petsmart 7.41 each after taxes.) the tank mates are 20 brilliant rasboras 20 diamond tetras and 3 or four Chinese algae eater. 90 gal with emperor 400 (roselines will be moved to a 125 planted about x-mas)

I have 4 at 4.5 inches in a 65. I have been feeding NLS strictly and they are gorgeous. Mine are in with a colony of eartheaters. What color gravel/sand do you have? How about after a water change do they color up then? Mine get a deep flurescent red after a water change. I also have black eco complete substrate.

gravel is from a creek (brown, with bits of blue and red) water changes i have gotten lazy but about 30 yo 40% every week or two. I do feed frozen blood warms once a week.

If NLS isn't bringing out their colors, no other food will (unless it contains dye or something). It could just be a genetics issue. Or a health/stress issue.

I have 10 in my 125 gal with Silver Dollars, Angels and Congo Tetras and feed NLS with a variety of frozen Bloow worms, Krill and Peas. I have only had the Roselines for just a few months but they are coloring up nicely and putting on some good size.
