Hello all,

I set up my patio pond on Monday, and got Rosy Barbs for it. I used precycled media for it all. 2 out of 3 Cory Catfish died, and the Rosy Barbs are staying at the bottom, and not schooling at all. Attempting to feed them flakes, but they are sticking to the bottom. I’m worried they will die of starvation. Plz help.

One of the ones that died was albino. I was pretty sure they could survive the winters. The other one was completely normal cory.

The albinos are pretty much bullet proof. I've kept them for alive 17-19 years. If the temperature dropped too fast, that could be an issue. What was the temp of the water last night compared to this morning.

Did you do a water change with this new setup prior to adding fish?

Not sure what the temperature was last night, but my hands can tell you it was freezing. Testing the temp now.

Well if the water was 70F when you added the cories and barbs, and it dropped to 55F overnight, the change could have been to quick for them to adjust. I would do a water change that raises the temperature by 3 degrees and see if there is an improvement in the fish.
