Rosy red silver dollars?

Need some info on these. They look like standard wide bar silvers, but pink/red through the entire body. Any info would be great. This guy is charging an arm and a leg for them.

Just curious how much arm and leg would be? My friends shop here in SH has them but they are even more red/pink. I thought they were artificially colored but he swears by them being a new species and he carries other high end fish so I'll take his word. Pricing here is around 50 usd for a juvie like yours pictured.

These are priced at 80$ for one about the size of a quarter.

That is kind of steep like double the cost. But they are definitely an interesting sp.

First time I seen these.. I think there artificially colored and probably fades out as it grows. I'd wait to see some full grown ones and see if there still all red colored.

Just did a google search on Rosy Red silver dollars. Seems there are some Metynnis sp. Rosy red so pretty positive they are artificially colored.

A guy bought a good school of them and he keeps in constant contact with my fish guy. I hope to see some pics in a few months.

I wonder if that's what this guy is? This was at the Shedd aquarium and I've been trying to figure out what it is because I would love to have one. ID?
