I keep tossing the idea of breeding rosys or kenyens.Im waiting on a blue toung skink right now but soon i will be getting one of the snakes.I realy want one of each but i might be wanting to breed one of them.Ive had rosys long ago but want one again and have never had a kenyen and fell in love with a baby not long ago.Witch do you think would be more profitable to breed.See,instead of getting one of each,I may just get a pair of one type.Ive bread herps before and just want to do it again with live birth this time.

hey on the kenyens, since they dig so much, with a heat pad will they be too close to the heat source by digging close to it.I know i can use temp control but i just was hopping i wouldnt have to,lol.

The roseys dig as well.

I have had both and I liked them equally.

The only draw back was that i could never switch them over to thawed pinkies/mice. They would only accept live food.

Just a UTH is fine for a sand boa. Just provide like, 3-4" of sand. Most people don't provide that much depth. Sand boas love to feel that weight on top of them, plus the extra depth gives them more of a gradient.

well you guys got one didnt you?Is it eating live or pk?Also if anyone knows,it seems to be a heated topic in all forums on what sand if any to really use for them.I cant see sand being bad for rosys or Sand boas but maybe its the dust,or maybe just not the pet store sand.IDK.Any info?

I like the roseys. I was suprised by the amount of morphs/locals.
im just suprised more ppl dont just love these guys.Maybe because they are not so active.I get more into herps when I learn more about the habitats and rosies are from some really awesome areas.Like you say, lots of types too.

I use shaved aspen as my ground cover.

I do have a couple rocks that sit on top of the aspen. As Ophiuchus said, the sand boas like the feel of the weight as security. He can always be found under the rock or the water bowl.
