Rotkeil and Red severum

I just picked up my first rotkeil and red severum. The red is about 3inch and Rotkeil is 3.5inch. I like the colors of the Rotkeil. Do the colors change or get brighter as the get bigger? How can you tell its male or female?

Fish colors can change frequently based on the setting they are in as well as diet. Not sure what pattern changes if any you could expect but if the fish is breeding in a safe places and getting good food and water it should get brighter as time passes.

As far as i know, severums are hard to sex. No personal esperience there though

Rokteil looks great IMO!

Thanks! The Rokteil was the more domiant one out of the other 3 they had. It had more worm markings on face as well.

Think at that size it's alittle harder to tell. Mine turned out female (I think) and hasn't shown much color. Good luck with yours!

Red is about 5" and the other probably 4" or so.
