I always have a hard time iding some kinds of severums if they are small. This guy is about 2". The picture doesnt show his color but he has orange tint in bottom fins and top fins have a very very slight blue. his pectoral fins and jaw line has a bit of orange as well , thats why i thought it was rotkeil, so is it? thanks :)

i got him from a store that has adults rotkeils so i thought these were their babies.

Could be. Vertical Bars seem stronger on the lower half of the flanks. Better pics would help, but i'd go with a hesitant yes.

:iagree:Rotkeils are more elongated than "regular" sevs; more obvious when you have them in the same tank.

It's going to take a well before the red dots show up (3-4 inches for mine). This picture was taken over a month ago - the dots were just coming out:

Nice sev i hope you got what your asking for what was the label on the tank where you bought them did the label say red head severums or not?

well they werent labled at all. they had about 5-6 severums. Two of fish i could be %100 sure were normal severums. and there were 3 that looked completely different with a redish orange tint on the gills so i thought possibly these were the rotkeils. As it was obvious in the tank that they werent all the same. The store had tons of adults rotkeils so im guessing it wasnt that hard to believe they would have babies too.

that being said, my phone takes crappy pics that doesnt show much details i will try my best to get better pics for you iders :P:D

My Rotkeil severums looks just like yours woofy. Just with more of a orangish red on the bottom fin. Their still small too, but they guy who I bought them from showed me the parents(supposedly-pics online) and they were defintely Rotkeil sevs. I'm really hoping that i do have them, but the orangish red on the bottom fin is all I have so far.
