Do Severums change pair? I've had 1 F1 male severum with a f0 female severum pair, they have been paired for 1 - 2 years now. but recently i move some inhabitant of my tanks. I moved th epair into a 300 Gallon tank with a f10000 , lol not sure what, but its definitely not wild caught female.
the f0 and the other female rotkiel lip locking now, and the male seems to be taking the side of the new female? do severums change their pair?

here are some picture of the 2 females lip locking.

any advise? btw the new female is a lot younger.

Yes, pairs are not necessarily bonded for life. Some of my male severums will spawn with multiple females.

thanks :) Will see tomorrow if he replaced his partner :) might separate the 2 females and just move him from 1 tank to another to fertilize eggs :D

^ You could definitely do that. In fact, you may have to if things get violent. My spawning females always beat the crap out of any other female in the tank.

thanks :) So far my old female still has not been been up. i think it might be the tank is quite big, so far the new pair looks like they're ready to spawn. though i don't think there will be fries left since they are with a pair of Asian aros, and some plecos .
