Good thing I took some pics last night of my Jaguar frie and posted them because I went from a couple of hundred to about 40 when I woke up. My Festaes must have had one hell of a feast. The rest are comming out today.

Yep, my Festae are all F0's. One female and three male. It took a six hour round trip and four months to finaly find some. I didnt want to buy any on line, sight unseen, transactions so I knew what I really bought. I have 3 more F2's in another tank. This is the first time I have had Cichlid babbies and am chalking it up to practice. I knew it was comming but what was I to do with all those babies that no one wants. The LFS arent interested and no one I know needed that many. I wanted my festae to spawn or Dovvii or RT Motas but no luck yet. When any of these do have frie they are all comming out the same day. It was neet to watch but they are still Jags, anyone can go to Petsmart here in town and buy them for $3.49. I had more of a desire to just grow them out for display than for breeding since they arent that hard of a fish to find for sale. The others I have, yes. I still feel bad for the little guys though.

Yep, common as house flies, or gold fish for that matter, around here. I dont know how its in your area but the other fish I have listed above are not around here. I had picked them all up from the twin cities for twenty bucks a pop. All the LFS are anxious to have them breed so they can purchase the frie. I just moved a good amount of the Jag frie while both parents bit the hell out of the net trying to remove them. I think might have got half out. I will see how they do on thier own and then move over whats left later today if all goes well. If no one ends up taking the little guys I will be just raising them for larger meals. Well, hopefully that was the little extra protien my Festae needed to start their family.

Thats it. Everyone in the Jag family has moved into a vacant 38gal including mom and dad. They were not happy at all about the move. Now they have settled down and all seems fine. You should have seen my male grap ahold of the net and shake it when I took some of the last frie out! Hes pure animal!!!! As soon as both mom and dad hit the water they were trying like hell to swim throught the glass back in the direction of the tank they came out of. This kept up for about 5 minutes and all settled down when they realized their frie was with them. Next time I will be more prepaired and removed all the others out of the tank when eggs are laid.

No, they'll go back in the the 120g with my Festaes when the frie get to about a .5" or they will all end up going to a new home accept for the male. I never wanted them to breed in the first place. Just wanted to grow them out for show.
