hello all. i am new to this site and really need some help. a few days ago i found my turquoise hap had white lips and though maybe he just got into a fight and was injured but itll heal. well three days later, i noticed it had spread to his whole face and his side fins appeared to be rotting. well i freaked out cause i have 14 cichlids in the tank and i didnt want it to happen to any more of them. so i called a friend of mine whos kept fish for years and advised me to change water and medicate for bacterial infection. so i did i pulled everything out and did a 90% water change. maintaining the normal temp while filling. well when i did this the turquoise hap died as i kind of expected him to. then the next morning i noticed that one of my red zebras had it too but it was much more severe. he has the white lips too but also red sores as well as the rotting fins and what appears to be large spots on his sides that are falling apart. it spreads very rapidly. the white spots look to me like they are just spots where scales and skin have fallen off. can anyone please tell me exactly what this is and how to treat it? thank you.

alright well the red zebra and turquoise hap died. the rest of the cichlids are ok at the moment. think ill sell the rest to a friend of mine and get some red belly piranha. i want a fish with some teeth lol.

seems to me like he had some sort of bacterial or fungal infection, not sure as to which is the best treatment since i havent had this issue, wait for more responces

What were your water parameters? Like ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and ph?
