I’m already growing out a spawn from last months pond spawn, and now here we go again!

I tried to pull eggs shortly after being laid this time to be more sure about what I was getting.
I collected eggs from the same pair as last time. Gold/white ryukin x black moor. I also saw my red/white female ryukin spawning this time with the male moor. So I have a mix of those.
The goldies spawning

And a couple hours later my koi started spawning! This time I caught them in the act;)
I tried to pull eggs only fertilize by my gin rin kohaku male. But three other males have been chasing her too, so we will see later on if I got the right ones. Lol
The koi
You can see three of the males here. The other male is a blue male doitsu. You can see him in the above picture of the spawning goldies next to the bekko.

This is the male I’m hoping fertilized the eggs I pulled. 84D14205-1773-41DD-942B-9418130818EE.jpeg

Great idea with use of the netting for eggs to attach to. I’ve unraveled nylon rope that worked just as well.

If I had rope I probably would have tried that too. I might use yarn next time. This is working good, but I’m always worried they might get stuck, so I’m checking on them all the time.

Beautiful is all I can say.

I saw a video on YouTube of this lady that's been keeping fish for 50 years. I saw she uses cloth mops for fish to breed on like you are doing with the netting. Just an idea.

Thank you:) That is a good idea. I bet I could get some from the dollar store for cheaper then yarn! Thanks!
I really don’t think the fish care what they spawn on, they just need something to swim into/through. And spawning mops are crazy expensive. So I’m all about alternatives. Haha

I made spawning mops out of hunter green yarn for my Polypterus and even though the polys haven't spawned lately. The mop made of yarn is still in the aquarium because they like to hide in it too. It's been months yarn still holding intact.

That’s good to know. I never thought to use it for aquarium fish.
I made a rope out of yarn to tie the netting I’m currently using to. It has worked great and eggs seem to stick to it really well. I might just try both mops and yarn when it’s time for spawning again. Since the pond is a square I have 4cornres to cover.
Hopefully all my girls are done now. The platinum looks much thinner today, but a couple other girls look a little chunky still.
