Round shiny rocks for aquarium?

i am looking to put some beggir like 4'' to 6'' big black smooth rocks like the ones we used to skip as kids where would i find these or could i use them from outside and how would i make them safe for the take.

I've seen them at Lowes or Home Depot...I'd give them a boil, let them cool and throw them in.

depends how many you want.. larger amounts try finding a landscaper/quarry to go threw. otherwise lowes/menards/home depot will all have them.
