Hey guys I Finally found a royal clown knife for sale here in perth (very rare) and i was wondering if he would go good with my 20 cm silver aro...CK is only around 10cm...silver aro not aggresive but maybe CK might pick on him? They will both be in a 440 litre grow out tank only them two inside and then after ill move thwm into a 10ft. Would love some info on these guys such as:

Diet
Good Tankmates
Max Size
And if they are agrressive

and info will be much appreciated.

best to get them on pellets wen they r this age otherwise ull have problems like me in the future if u dont wana keep feeding LIVE food... the arowana shud be a fine tankmate...especially wen they move into the 10ft tank! my CKs r almost 40'' atm in my pond. dont listen to the bull**** people tell u about how royal CKs r smaller than normal CKs...FALSEEEEE. they r generally not aggressive wen kept with other large fish but will kill anything much smaller than them.

BTW im studying at UWA perth!

They're very similar to CKs in temperment and size. I believe Royals are bigger than CKs. Like TLkmDN said, best to get them off live as soon as possible or you'll be spending a lot of money on feeders. I find Silver Aros and Royal CKs are pretty mellow and will get along with most fish that they can't swallow. They aren't aggressive, but each Knife tends to have their own personality. Most books and sites I've seen said that they are aggressive, but I haven't found an aggressive Knife yet.

haha i used to have one that kicked the crap outta my arows...i believe that live food tends to bring out the more aggressive tendencies. plus tank space is vital since theyve never fought in the pond..but always fought in the 4 foot tank many years ago.

ok thanks for the info guys....a mate suggested to try feed bloodworms coz its only like 10cm..is that good? and TLKmDN what kind of pellets should i feed it?..hikari foos sticks?

if they eat it, they shud be great...but due to the shape of their bodies sinking pelets are usually the best. hikari MASSIVOREEEE!!!

mine eats defrosted fish, prawns and cockles and occasional earthworms, not aggressive unless another fish gets too close to his hideout then he just chases them away has a quick swim round and then straight back to his area, other than this he doesn't really swim about alot

ok thanks for the info guys....im getting it this friday so im relli excited...just want to make sure what good for it coz its only small
