Hey Guys,

A couple weeks a ago I added a leptobotia elongota to my 500 yesterday I picked up a second one from shookones (thanks). The first one has been fine just hides a lot. My clown loaches seem confused by him always trying to get him to come out...lol

Now I know they get big, but are they slow growers like there clown cousins?
Will they eventually school with the clowns?
They do not seem to be aggressive eaters, will this change? any special dietary requirements?

And because all threads need pics.... here is the newer one learning from my little leo not to lay motionless in the open...

Very slow growers, not very aggressive eaters like clowns. Pretty much nothing like clowns lol. And no they won't school. You're lucky to see them once they find themselves a cozy hiding place. Tried to keep it short and sweet

I had a couple when I had 8 clowns at one time a year or so ago. They were cool at first but then I never saw them. Always had a full belly though when I did see them

Mine does the same, hides all the time and doesn't hang with the clowns. I would have to agree with the boring part.

i got one a month ago and then picked up another a couple weeks after... They both after a few days eat aggressively, but only if i hand feed them... luckily for me, there hidding spots are easy for me to hand feed them... their belly swells up after every feeding...

Not very active at all... i do see one, would be hiding at same spot as the other (out in the open on a powerhead/pump)... but when the ligth is on, he swims to the driftwood and hides... while the other, he's been on the powerhead since he's been in the tank... not covered, but away from all the othe fishies in my tank.

Thanks for the feed back guys, I can say mine seem a bit more active then expected from this thread. They do come out in the light to eat and move around the rock they live by from time to time. But yea nothing like a cl.

They are escape artists when they get about 10". I think they get the erg to migrate. I've had > 10 for about 3 years. I keep adding ones as the big ones escape.

Good info, I never heard that before . Thanks

How big is your biggest? Are they getting out the same way or finding different escape spots?
