One of my Royals was posing so I took a few pictures. I have about 20 in a grow out tank, but only a few are out at any time. They are from an inch shorter to two longer of this one and I've had them less than 2 years. They grow very slow.

you're not going to believe it, I have a group on a bottom tank that would swim to the top and beg for food when I come near and strike as soon as the food hits the surface.
I think with most loaches, its finding the secret that makes them grow, I haven't found it yet. Whether its water chemistry, tank setting, flow rate, or tank mates. My other group eats, but would never come out of the lair
