this is my third royal already. want to make it last this time.
lmk. thanks

Do you have any driftwood in the tank?

Well then my suggestion would be to make sure he has hiding spots especially if he has other predators in the tank. Do you offer him any other types of vegetables or anything to eat than wood? If all checks out i would check the temp, water parameters and make sure everything is right, also their PH range should be in between 6.5 - 7.5 GL!

algae walfers and bloodworms. imma sample zuccini soon, gotta buy tho

I would feed BW very sparingly. Panaque's are almost entirely herbivores and wood eaters. The occasional BW treat would be fine.

These are not hard plecos to keep, though they do get big so they require a) adequate space and b) good filtration.

how long do they usually take to warm up to veggies? the one i bought from my friend was being fed sinking carnivore pellets and leftover food from other carns in the tank.

it has wood and has been rasping on it, should i just continue with the carn pellets or try switch it to cucumber?

Zucchinni is more nutrious than cucumber, so use that instead. Also, try blanching the zucchini, and sticking some of the carnivore pellets in it; maybe that will entice it to eat more veggies.
